DCMS works for the Dalit community in the Diocese. Around 1100 dalit families with 6000 members are living in our diocesan territory. They are divided into 30 units. We are providing them with assistance for housing, marriage, education and promoting social and cultural developments. Last year we started Talent and Skill Development Training (TSDT) program in association with the K.C.B.C., SC/ST Commission. 30 students were selected for this training. We have a Chenda Melam called Oruma which is led by dalit members. We have D.C.S.L (Students League) and Vanitha Forum for dalit women. We conduct group programs, cultural activities, leadership training programs, career guidance program and camps for students, youth and elders. Last year, we provided 8 houses to dalit families.
