Peermade Development Society is a registered Non Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by Bishop Emeritus Mar Mathew Arackal during 1980, when he was serving as parish priest of Peermade church. With the vision ‘to have life and have it abundantly’ PDS works with tribal communities, marginal farmers and women promoting their sustainable development. Over the last 40 years PDS could make its voice heard globally through innovative programs and creating replicable models in the development sector. Major focus of PDS are natural resource management, organic spice factory, organic tea factory, export of organic spices and tea, promotion of Ayurveda, Sahyadri Ayurveda Pharmaceuticals, tribal development, community development and institution building, micro finance, micro enterprise development, women development, family development, housing and insurance, rural technology promotion, bio technology and tissue culture. PDS also undertakes consultancy services in natural resource management, organic farming, rural technology promotion and micro enterprise development.
